The Curriculum Foundation ‘Making Memories’ is dedicated to ensuring that our pupils experience a childhood filled with fun, laughter and memorable experiences. These are based around making the most of our school grounds, exploring the local area and making links with nature as well as learning new skills.
At the end of each half term, our classes take part in a Making Memories activity. Here are some of the wonderful memories our pupils have made so far this year:
Autumn 1
EYFS pupils had a teddy bears picnic. They made paw print biscuits and had a lovely picnic with their teddy bears.
Year 1 and 2 made their own kites and flew them in the yard.
Year 3 Yew walked to the local shop to spend their 50p.
Year 4 enjoyed playing board games in the hall.
Year 5/6 Alder enjoyed a mini adventure to the King Coal statue on the old train line.
Year 6 Oak made their own movies on the iPads using the app, iMovie.
Autumn 2
Pantomime
Children from Reception to Year 6 went to The Customs House in South Shields to watch the Pantomime, Aladdin. It was a fantastic performance and the children enjoyed singing and dancing along to the music. Everyone had a great time…Oh no they didn’t! Oh yes they did!
Christmas parties
Before breaking up for the Christmas holidays, everyone celebrated with parties in their key stages. Children enjoyed party games, dancing, food and fun with their friends.
