What have we been up to?
We have lots of exciting activities planned for this year! Keep checking our Dojo page for photos and updates. Parents of children who attend school see updates via Class Dojo.
Information for parents
Homework is given out weekly. The aim of the children’s homework is to allow the children to practise and apply the skills they have learned at school. Each week there will be a piece of maths homework and a piece of English homework. Homework is given out each Friday and is expected back by Tuesday the following week. If you have any questions, please come and speak to your child’s class teacher at the end of the school day, or send a message on Class Dojo.
Reading We encourage our children to read at home and develop a love for reading. We send each of our children home with two/three books a week to share with their parents/carers. Children who read for 15 minutes three times a week are entered into our prize draw and could win a reading book of their choosing. We also send home Bedtime Stories on a Friday. These books are for you to share with your child and aim to help encourage a love for reading for pleasure.
Fruit As we are a healthy school children are encouraged to eat at least 5 fruit or vegetables a day. We have a fruit on offer at morning break times.
Milk Children can buy milk through Cool Milk. Please speak to the school office to find out more about ordering milk for your child. Children are encouraged to bring a water bottle into school so that they can access drinking water throughout the day.
PE Kits All children are expected to have the full PE kit on their PE days. The PE kit consists of plain shorts, leggings or joggers, a plain t-shirt, school jumper or cardigan, and trainers. All clothes should be clearly labelled with your child’s name.
OPAL All children from Reception to Year 6 will take part in OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) during their lunchtimes. Only extreme weather conditions will prevent OPAL from taking place. To ensure that children are prepared for OPAL sessions we ask parents to ensure children have a pair of wellies and a coat in school. We do expect the children to get a little dirty during sessions, therefore parents may choose to leave a separate coat on the peg in school just for OPAL play.
