Why I became a governor: I have two children currently attending Roseberry Primary School and I felt that this would be an ideal opportunity to become more involved in supporting the school. I have 20 years of experience working in secondary education and would like to use this alongside my understanding of what parents needs and wants are for their children to help our school and its pupils be the best that they can be.
Special Interests: At home I spend a lot of time with my children at dancing lessons and competitions, swimming and basketball and that keeps us very busy but when I get time for myself I love walking, especially along the nearby coast to coast route and in our local woods and I am trying to make more time for fitness including a bit of Yoga!
In terms of school, I am looking forward to learning more about the primary curriculum, what the children learn and how they learn, and what the expectations are at each key stage as this is quite different to what I know about as a secondary school teacher. I have loved hearing more about how the children are learning through play and getting outside with OPAL as I love the outdoors myself and know the physical and mental benefits that it can bring.
